This year, 1,400 CISOs (Chief Information Security Officers) were interviewed across 14 countries to discover what the top threats are as it relates to cyber security for businesses in 2022.

The report speaks to the change in landscape and precautions to consider as more employees are working remotely, leading to an increased risk of cyberattacks.

So what are the top cyber threats posed to businesses in 2022?

  1. Insider Threats - This continues to be of highest importance to consider for all organizations. The CISO report also includes ways to mitigate inside, employee threats in their own strategic plans.

  2. Email fraud - Employees are continuing to be at risk for phishing emails and other threats that allow cyber attackers to access company data.

  3. DDoS attacks (Distributed Denial of Service) - These specific type of attacks have increased the most over the past few years, making them one of the highest threats across the globe in cyber security.

  4. Compromising Cloud accounts - Without enough protection, cloud accounts continue to grow as an easy point of entry for cyber attacks on organizations.

All of the cyber security threats emphasize importance of thorough destruction of hardware as well as physical documentation through secure, professional shredding.
